Daniel Lobaton

Member of Technical Staff, Engineering

Daniel is an engineer at Patronus AI who builds RL environments and alignment evaluations, with a focus on whether models learn what was intended rather than what merely scores well. Before Patronus, he was a research engineer at Mechanize, a founding engineer building federal procurement software at G2X and a software engineer at Microsoft, where he optimized Copilot's power use before it shipped. He studied computer science at the University of Florida and did research at its SimLab, building medical simulations to train battlefield doctors. Daniel is, perhaps, the most impressive engineering mind of our generation.
